Under Our Roof Honouring the Past, Building the Future Sacred Heart Parish Capital Campaign
Dear Parishioners and Friends of Sacred Heart, As we enter a momentous year in the life of our parish, we have much to be grateful for. This fall, Sacred Heart Parish will celebrate 150 years of faith, community, and service in Parkhill. For generations, our church has been a home of worship, sacraments and fellowship – a sacred space where we have encountered Christ together. At the same time, our universal Church has invited us to journey as Pilgrims of Hope in this Jubilee Year– a time to renew our faith, trust in God, and care for the gifts we have received. Now, we are called to ensure that our beloved church remains strong for the generations who will follow. Our church has been a cornerstone of faith, but time and the elements have taken their toll. Our roof, walls, and structure are in urgent need of repair to preserve the integrity of our sacred space. In addition, we seek to establish a dedicated Building Fund to ensure that future maintenance needs can be met with foresight and care. To protect and strengthen our church for future generations, we are launching the “Under Our Roof” Capital Campaign – a community effort to restore and renew our spiritual home. Our Goals Through prayerful discernment, our building committee has identified structural reinforcements that are already underway. Our immediate campaign goal is $300,000, which will allow us to complete the most urgent structural reinforcements. However, this is just the beginning. Our church has additional long-term needs, including improved accessibility, HVAC upgrades, and sound system enhancements. While this initial campaign focuses on the most pressing repairs, we are committed to ongoing stewardship of our parish buildings. We recognize that additional funding will be needed in the future to maintain and enhance our sacred space. As we move forward, we will continue to assess and address these needs together as a parish family. Together, through faith and generosity, we can ensure our church remains a beacon of Christ’s love for generations to come. Let Us Move Forward in Faith I thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration and support. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to bless our parish and all who call it home. With gratitude and prayer, Father David Johnston, Pastor
